Former Kettering Iron & Coal Ltd 3ft gauge Manning Wardle 0-6-0 saddle tank ‘Kettering Furnaces No.8’ (W/No.1675 built in 1906) in the ironstone pits near Kettering on 23 May 1961. The workings ceased in December 1962.

The scrapyard of Cohens of Kettering in the mid-1980s with three class ’48DS’ Ruston & Hornsby 4-wheel diesel-mechanical locomotives awaiting the torch. From left to right: (W/No.224346 of 1945) in yellow, which was acquired from British Leyland at Coventry circa February 1982. In green (W/No.495994 of 1963), which arrived from Midland Rollmakers at Crewe in September 1983, and in black (W/No.279597 of 1949) which also came from Midland Rollmakers at Crewe in 1983 and spent some time as yard shunters at Allen Rowlands at Tyseley before being sent for scrap at Cransley near Kettering.
